Capture address
The fastest way to capture a moment is to email or text it. LifeLately has one shared email address and one shared phone number — both recognize you automatically by the address or number you send from.
The email-in address
Email or forward anything to capture@in.lifelately.app. The body becomes a moment, the subject becomes the title, and attached photos come along for the ride.
We match incoming mail to your account by the From address. Your signup email works out of the box. To capture from a work address, a forwarder, or an alias, add it under Settings → Account → Allowed senders and click the one-time verification link we send to that address.
The shared address is safe to share — save the LifeLately contact and send it around. Mail from senders we don't recognize gets held for 30 days and we reply with a one-click link to claim it on signup.
Private moments
Start an email or text with journal: or private: and the moment goes straight to your Journal — never shareable, never bundled into a loop. You can also wrap a paragraph in single asterisks (like *this is private*) to mark just that part private.
The SMS number
Text moments to +1 (855) 262-3742. LifeLately matches the sending phone number to your account, so add your phone first in Settings → Account. Texts from unknown numbers are ignored.
Saving it as a contact
Open Settings → Account and use the Save LifeLately contact button (or scan the QR with your phone). It saves the email and SMS number under one contact called “LifeLately”.
Want your own address?
Power users can also claim a vanity address like you@in.lifelately.app from Settings → Account → Capture address. Vanity addresses accept mail from your signup email or any of your allowed senders. Once you change a vanity address the old one stops working immediately — update any saved contacts first.
