How LifeLately uses SMS, how you opt in, and how to opt out.
Who we are
LifeLately is a personal memory journal. You text your own moments — a line, a thought, a photo — to a private number and they land in your private queue. Nothing is shared, marketed, or sold.
How you opt in
- Sign up for a LifeLately account at lifelately.app.
- Go to Settings → Account → Phone Number.
- Enter your mobile number, tick the consent checkbox (“I agree to receive transactional SMS from LifeLately at this number”), and tap Save number.
The consent checkbox is the explicit opt-in — the Save button is disabled until it’s ticked. Only the account owner can add their own number; no third party can submit a number on your behalf. Texting our number does not by itself enroll you in SMS — if you text us before completing the in-app opt-in, we may send a one-time reply to help you finish signing up, after which no further SMS is sent until you tick the consent checkbox above.

By saving your number, you agree to receive transactional SMS from LifeLately (capture confirmations and account alerts). Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
What messages you'll receive
- Confirmations when an inbound SMS is saved to your queue.
- Account notifications (e.g. capture failures, account alerts).
Transactional only. No marketing, no promotional content, ever.
Message frequency
Roughly one confirmation per inbound text you send us. Typical users send a few per week. We never send unsolicited messages.

Opt-out and help
Reply STOP at any time to opt out — Twilio handles this automatically and you will receive no further messages. Reply HELP for support contact info. You can also remove your phone number anytime from Settings → Account → Phone Number.
Age-gated content
LifeLately does not send age-gated content. No alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, firearms, gambling, sweepstakes, loans, or adult content of any kind.
Carrier disclosure
Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Available on participating carriers in the United States.
Privacy and contact
Your phone number is stored only to route inbound SMS to your account. It is not shared, not sold, and not used for marketing. See our full privacy policy for more.
